Clinical Supervision services

At AbunDANCE Somatic Center, we believe that becoming an exceptional therapist requires more than just clinical hours—it requires the development of your own somatic resilience. Our comprehensive supervision services are designed to foster the growth of counselors and therapists within a collaborative, humanistic, and social-justice-oriented environment. We integrate the M3 Method into the supervisory process, helping you bridge the gap between psychological theory and embodied practice.

Our Supervisory Pillars:

  • Somatic Case Consultation: We provide deep-dive feedback on your clinical work, utilizing verbal reports and live observation to refine your case conceptualization. We look beyond the "what" of the session to the "how"—mapping the nervous system rhythms of both therapist and client.

  • Ethical & Embodied Professionalism: We ensure you are grounded in the ethical mandates and laws set by the ACA and the CCE Approved Clinical Supervisors, while teaching you how to maintain ethical boundaries through somatic awareness and self-regulation.

  • The "Self of the Therapist" Inquiry: We work with you to explore how your personal history and physiological responses influence your practice. By identifying your unique "somatic signature," we help you turn your internal responses into a clinical tool for better client outcomes.

  • Licensure & Trajectory Support: We provide rigorous oversight of your supervision files, ensuring you meet all Colorado state requirements for licensure, certification, and liability insurance with precision and clarity.

  • Co-Regulatory Guidance: Our sessions provide a "Ventral" sanctuary—a safe, encouraging space to navigate the challenges of the field. We help you "thaw" the secondary trauma and burnout that often come with clinical work, ensuring you remain a resilient, healthy practitioner.

Quality of Experience: To ensure a high-quality, high-impact experience, Dr. Bow provides clinical supervision in the State of Colorado only, maintaining a strictly limited caseload of supervisees.

what is clinical supervision?

Clinical supervision in mental health is a collaborative process designed to support and enhance the professional development of therapists and counselors. It involves a supervisor overseeing a supervisee's clinical work to strengthen their skills, clarify theoretical rationales, and foster professional identity. This developmental approach draws from humanistic and social justice principles.

Key aspects of clinical supervision include:

  • Individual Case Conceptualization and Feedback: Supervisors provide detailed feedback on clinical skills using specific examples, often through verbal reporting, live observation, or reviewing audio/video recordings of sessions with appropriate client consent.

  • Professionalism and Ethical Conduct: Supervision emphasizes adherence to ethical standards and professional conduct. Supervisees are required to understand and abide by relevant laws and ethical mandates, such as those from the American Counseling Association and the Center for Credentialing and Education Approved Clinical Supervisors.

  • Skill Development and Growth: The process helps supervisees identify strengths and areas for development, providing actionable recommendations and setting goals for future sessions. This can include exploring how personal biases and experiences as a therapist (self of the therapist) may influence clinical processes.

  • Accountability and Compliance: Supervisors regularly review supervision files to ensure supervisees are on track for licensure, certification, or registration, and also ensure compliance with requirements like maintaining professional liability insurance.

  • Support and Guidance: Supervision serves as a space for supervisees to discuss challenges, receive support, and gain wisdom from their supervisor's experience.
